$Extra Green$

Just so you know that your efforts are making a difference, we have been receiving checks regularly from Abitibi - the paper recycling company.  Since July of 2006 when we received our first check, St. Mary Church has received $3409.26 - and we've all helped to make our planet a little greener.  Working together - it's what makes St. Mary Church such a beautiful place.

Another way we've benefited from a little bit of effort from a lot of people, is from GoodSearch (scroll down below on this page for more details).  We recently received a check from GoodSearch for $175.13 as our earnings for the year.

Our "Cash Card" program is another simple way to turn your ordinary week to week purchases into earnings for your parish and school.  We all buy gasoline and groceries, as well as dozens of other things on a weekly basis.  A little effort to think ahead and purchase the approriate Cash Cards in advance can return 3% - 5% to your parish and school to help offset our ever increasing operating costs.

These are just a few examples of how directing our efforts and working together can benefit us all.  Thank you for all you do to help us!

St. Mary`s "Our Lady of the Assumption Heritage Society" has been formed to anchor our parish and our mission in our community and to secure your place in history.  For more information about this exciting new program, please click HERE

Coinciding with the formation of St. Mary School Alumni Association, (see article below) we now have the capability to collect donations online through JustGive.org.  Simply click HERE to be directed to the St. Mary Church donation page on their secure website.

Your donations will be sent to St. Mary Church on a monthly basis with a full report of as much personal information as the Donor wishes to reveal.  You can also make a donation in the name of a deceased loved one.

The JustGive donation page is very user friendly.  We invite all St. Mary Church friends and families and Alumni of St. Mary School to become familiar with this capability and let your friends and families know.

As the cost of Catholic Education increases, along with the increased costs of fuel, energy, etc., this will be a very valuable way for us to increase our revenues.

If you are in a quandry as to HOW you can support St. Mary Church and School, here`s your answer.  Everyday purchases - like gasoline, groceries, personal care items, drugs, meals at some of your favorite restaurants, etc., can be purchased using St. Mary Cash Cards.  They are easy to purchase and you get dollar for dollar.  You also get FULL FUEL PERKS if you shop at Giant Eagle.

How does St. Mary`s benefit from this?  We get a percentage of every dollar (the % varies from vendor to vendor).  This costs you nothing other than the time to think ahead and order your cards according to your spending habits.  If you click HERE  you can print the order form to your printer and fill it out, bring it with you to church and we`ll fill your order and get it back to you as soon as possible; or just stop by the Cash Card table outside the Weigand Room after any weekend Mass, and we will fill your order while you wait.  We also need volunteers to help the team with the operation of this program.  To help, please call the parish office at 440-323-5539

GoodSearch.com

is a new search engine that donates ad revenue, about a penny per search, to the charity its users designate.  Use it just like any search engine, and it’s powered by Yahoo!, so you get the same great results.  Click on
www.goodsearch.com and enter "St. Mary Church and School, Elyria" as the organization you want to support.  (You must be specific and enter it exactly that way.)  Just 500 of us searching four times a day will raise $7300 in a year without anyone spending a dime!  Please spread the word!
